I totally love love.......
I mean I love romance. I can watch most Yash Chopra movies many times over, and love even cheesy, mushy, over the top hindi fillums .
Romance , as a genre for reading, however is more difficult to find and enjoy than movies; and it had been a while since I had found the right one!
Still, as I wrote earlier, the pandemic had me craving stories that would make me believe in love.
Well Unloved in love (
Readomania) did just that!!
I had recently connected with the author and was struck by the twinkle in her eyes which would become brighter whenever she spoke about her book!
So I reached out for this book, and was not disappointed!!
This is the story of
Rituparna Ghosh Kini’s main character Kiara. The settings and situations are all very relatable and I found myself rooting for Kiara as she works through her feelings for Kyle and Karan.
From college days to becoming established professionals , the protagonists grow and so does your attachment to them.
Love can only be found once they find themselves, and the author takes you through this delightful journey in a unique way.
All of them must face the vagaries of life that adulthood brings, and make peace with their demons too. They understand that life isn’t perfect and that making mistakes is integral to evolving. As you follow them on this path, you will find yourself realizing that there is a bit of Karan, Kiara and Kyle in all of us.
I finished the book at a record speed because I needed to know that Kiara would be okay; that’s how involved the author had me in it! Not just Kiara’s , everyone’s characters come together beautifully in the book; and it leaves you feeling warm and happy… content that Kiara was finally loved and in love!!
