I have always been a 5AM person (much before the 5 AM club became a thing). In student days, I have also been a 4 or 3 AM person, but that was long ago!
I love the stillness of the morning. The quiet. With nothing else happening around me, I notice sounds that get muffled in the noise and clutter that each day brings.
The low buzz of the refrigerator, that stops abruptly for a while, and then begins again. The
The swish of the water I pour to make the tea. The sound it makes when it comes to a boil.
The tick tock of the wall clock, and the click of the keys as I begin to write.
This is why I love the mornings. For the sounds they give me a chance to hear. Not just the ones outside me.
On a another (not completely unrelated) note, have you read this book yet?
What is the time of the day when you listen to yourself?
