The cook in the kitchen: woes of a writer

The cook in the kitchen: woes of a writer

On a day when even Muphy’s Law isn’t enough to cover the surprises….

I have been waking up early this entire month to write.
Except for the last few days, when , due to circumstances outside my control, i have had to wake up early to cook before leaving for work.

This has naturally left me a little grumpy, but I understand it is a part of that mysterious activity called adulting.

today though, I was especially resentful, as all of you can see..

She crushed the pepper corn, and the garlic clove;
And could feel her MC , begging for her love.
The onions browning and caramelizing,
A reminder, that the ending had been jarring.
The flames heating, making ready the sizzling oil;
She felt her emotions coming to a boil.
The fritters perfect and crispy ,
Even as her protagonist pleaded for mercy
The fish waiting in the refrigerator in its marinade,
She thought of the manuscript, dismayed.
The lentils cooked under pressure and steam,
Working on the plot seemed a distant dream.
She checked the seasoning and the salt,
Thinking about the WIP, that had grinded to a halt.
The whisking done, she popped the cake in the oven,
Resigned, she went about her day sullen.

Murphy’s law would have covered it until here, but then my SIM dies on me (and i am expecting two important packages which will need the OTP!!) and then i reach work to find a pile of work, and no electricity!!

Working on all of those.
working on everything except the WIP!
it will all work out though!
the upside is that I have food to go back to at home!!
